History and Acknowledgements
The first edition of this documentation was finished in April 1996 by Peter Love. Roger Nurse supplied details of the instrumentation and photography was by John Cleaseby from the Division of Environmental and Life Sciences' Geographics Unit.
This Second edition of this documentation was finished in November 2004 by Jenny Spagnolo in consultation with Richard de Dear. Jenny Spagnolo also supplied details of the instrumentation and photography. Php and MySQL programming by Peter Love of NetKnowledgy.
History
- 1992 - First site (AWS1) established at Macquarie University (Main Campus)
- 1997-1998 - Second site (AWS2) established nearby at Macquarie University Sportsfields
- January 1998 - AWS1 is dismantled to make way for a carpark
- Late 2004 - Major upgrade to AWS2 including upgrade of communications from phone line to radio modem, replacement of cup and vane anemometer with sonic anemometer, installation of several new sensors sensors and replacement of a significant portion of underground wiring.
